Steel plate for oxy-fuel cutting and processing centers
Real stock up to S690 QL, 450 HB wear-resistant steel and pressure vessel plate. EN 10204 3.1 certificate with heat/cast traceability on every supply. The link in your production chain cannot break due to lack of material.
Oxy-cutting and processing centers: the link that cannot fail
You're not the end user of the plate. You buy it raw, process it, and deliver it to your customer. If the supplier fails, the whole chain stops.

What does an oxy-cutting or processing center need from its supplier?
Six real requirements of a professional buyer working with tight production schedules and customers who demand traceability.
Real stock, not availability promises
Your cutting line can't wait 4 weeks for material to arrive from the factory. You need to know the supplier has the physical plate in their warehouse, not availability conditional on Central European production.
Correct and complete 3.1 certificates
The heat chemical analysis, the mechanical properties of the actual batch, and physical traceability must be on the certificate. If your OEM customer or the inspection body requests it, you can't depend on the supplier generating it after the fact.
Range of grades from a single supplier
Your job portfolio covers S355 for frames, wear-resistant steel for hoppers, S690 QL for lightweight parts, and P265GH for tanks. Managing a different supplier for each grade multiplies the administrative burden.
Heat/cast traceability guaranteed per batch
When the end customer demands full traceability —and increasingly they do— the heat number must be on the certificate and traceable to the physical material. Without that, you can't document the technical file of the cut part.
Capacity for recurring volume supply
Processing centers that run well are the ones with regular supply contracts, not the ones that buy on an ad-hoc basis every week. The supplier must be able to manage fixed monthly volumes with stable pricing.
Technical knowledge of the material they supply
When you ask whether 450 HB wear-resistant steel can be oxy-cut or which cutting process is best for S690 QL, you need a real technical answer, not to be redirected to the steel manufacturer.

Structural plate S275 JR / S355 J2+N
Application in the sector: Base raw material for most oxy-cutting, plasma, and laser jobs. High turnover. Structural parts, frames, gussets, anchor plates, semi-finished parts for boilermaking and structural steelwork. S355 J2+N is the most in-demand grade for its balance of strength, weldability, and price.
Technical advantage: CEV generally <0.45% in S355 J2+N: guaranteed weldability for the end customer who will join the cut parts. Charpy J2: 27 J at -20°C. Dimensional consistency between batches to feed automatic cutting lines without constant parameter adjustments.
Heavy structural plate S355 J2+N
Application: Industrial flanges, large-section anchor plates, machined blocks, high-load parts for heavy machinery and boilermaking. Parts cut by oxy-fuel or plasma in thicknesses few distributors keep in stock.
Technical advantage: In thicknesses above 60 mm, the yield strength of S355 decreases per EN 10025: at 100 mm it's 315 MPa, not 355 MPa. A fact the end customer's structural engineer needs to know. Ultrasonic testing per EN 10160 available for EXC3 projects that require it.
450 HB wear-resistant plate
Application: Cutting wear parts for quarry machinery, hoppers, excavator buckets, crusher linings, and aggregate handlers. 450 HB is the sector's standard reference.
Technical advantage: Hardness 400-600 HB Brinell depending on grade. Service life 3-6 times longer than S355 in abrasive applications.
High-strength plate S690 QL
Application: Cutting lightweight structural components for cranes, lifting equipment, articulated arms, and high-strength structures where weight reduction is critical. Growing demand from machinery manufacturers looking to reduce weight without losing load capacity.
Technical advantage: Weight reduction of up to 40% versus S355 with equal load capacity. Tensile strength 770-940 MPa.
Pressure vessel plate P265 GH / P355 GH
Application: Cutting shells, heads, and bodies for pressure vessel manufacturers, industrial tanks, and PED equipment. Parts where the 3.1 certificate is not optional: the boilermaker customer needs it for inspection by the notified body.
Technical advantage: Materials harmonized under PED. P265GH: ≥265 MPa / P355GH: ≥355 MPa. Charpy 27 J at 0°C.
Corten plate S355J2WN
Application: Cutting parts and sheets for industrial facades, urban furniture, signage, unpainted outdoor structures, and architectural elements with a natural patina. Growing demand from workshops serving the construction and industrial interior design sectors.
Technical advantage: Protective rust patina requires no maintenance. Mechanical strength equivalent to S355. For the cutting shop, cutting behavior identical to standard structural S355: no parameter adjustments needed.

📋 Correct 3.1 certificates as standard, always
Heat chemical analysis, mechanical properties of the actual batch, and physical traceability on every supply. Without asking for them, without waiting for them to be generated. When your OEM customer requests them, you have them.
🎯 Full range in a single order
S355, heavy plate, 450 HB wear-resistant steel, S690 QL, and P265GH on the same delivery note. One point of contact, one invoice, one consolidated set of documentation. No need to manage four different suppliers to cover your month's job portfolio.
📦 Capacity for recurring supply contracts
Centers that run well buy regularly. We design supply contracts with an agreed monthly volume, fixed pricing for the period, and scheduled deliveries based on your production planning. Tons, not kilos.
👨🔧 Technical guidance on the material and its cutting behavior
When you're asked whether 450 HB wear-resistant steel can be oxy-cut, whether S690 QL can be plasma-cut without losing properties, or what certificate your customer needs for their EXC3 project, we give you a real technical answer. You talk to technicians who know the material, not order managers reading datasheets.

Technical answers to real questions from purchasing managers and technical directors at cutting centers.
For thicknesses of 100, 120 and 150 mm in S355 J2+N, Mayor Steel maintains permanent stock in Zierbena (Bizkaia), with fast delivery across the Iberian Peninsula. For 200 mm thicknesses, availability from stock is standard with the same lead time. Above 200 mm, lead time is 1-2 weeks upon request. All supplies include an EN 10204 3.1 certificate with heat/cast traceability, with no need to request it explicitly.
The certificates Mayor Steel supplies always correspond to the actual batch delivered: they include the identified heat number traceable to the physical material, the full chemical composition of that heat, the measured mechanical properties of the batch (yield strength, tensile strength, elongation, Charpy where applicable), and the declared conformity with the corresponding standard. They are not type-approval or generic quality certificates. If your OEM customer requires heat/cast traceability, you have it from the very first supply.
Yes, 450 HB wear-resistant plate can be oxy-cut, but with certain conditions. Oxy-fuel cutting creates a heat-affected zone (HAZ) at the cut edge where the temperature can exceed 250°C, which is the material's tempering temperature. If the HAZ exceeds that limit, the hardness in that zone drops from 450 HB to values close to S355 (170-200 HB), compromising wear resistance at the edge. For applications where the cut edge is also subject to wear, plasma or laser cutting is recommended, as these produce a narrower HAZ.
Yes. For processing centers with regular consumption, Mayor Steel designs supply contracts with an agreed monthly or quarterly volume, fixed pricing for the period, and a delivery schedule aligned with your production planning. This approach eliminates the need for frequent ordering, guarantees material availability, and allows for more accurate cost planning. Tell us your approximate monthly volume by grade and thickness and we'll structure it for you.
Yes. Mayor Steel supplies the full range in a single order with individual 3.1 certificates per grade and batch, consolidated into the same delivery documentation. Each grade carries its own certificate referenced to its heat number: S355 with its EN 10025-2 certificate, the 450 HB wear-resistant steel with its own, and S690 QL with the corresponding EN 10025-6 certificate. Document management is centralized with a single supplier and a single delivery note, without compromising the individual traceability of each material.
Yes. For heavy structural plate in thicknesses above 60 mm, Mayor Steel can supply with ultrasonic testing per EN 10160 in classes S1 and S2, upon request. This test detects internal discontinuities such as laminations, inclusions, or segregations that aren't visible on visual inspection but can compromise the integrity of a machined part or a critical weld. It's commonly requested for EXC3/EXC4 projects, critical structural nodes, and heavy boilermaking. Mention it when requesting a quote so we can include it from the start.
Mayor Steel maintains permanent stock of steel plate in Spain and Portugal, with a warehouse in Zierbena (Bizkaia), allowing fast delivery times of hours to oxy-cutting shops and processing centers across the Iberian Peninsula. The advantage over Central European suppliers isn't just price: it's time. While an order from Germany or Belgium requires a lead time of 3 to 6 weeks, Mayor Steel delivers from stock in Spain in days. For a processing center working to tight delivery deadlines for its customer, that difference is what separates fulfilling the order on time from losing it.
